Friends of the Caroline County Library to Host Author Spotlight Event

Friends of the Caroline County Public Library (FOTL) will be hosting an Author Spotlight Event on October 18th from 6:30 – 7:30 PM at the Wharves of Choptank Visitor & Heritage Center. The event will feature children’s book author Dawn Wayman, a native of Caroline County and graduate of North Caroline High School. This event is part of FOTL’s celebration of the 18th Annual National Friends of Libraries Week, which will take place October 15 - 21. The week is designed to promote the efforts of community groups like FOTL that support the work of local public libraries.

Wayman, who recently published the children’s book Malcom, Who Will You Be, will be interviewed by FOTL President Angela Visintainer. The two will discuss Wayman’s inspiration for the book and the process of publishing a children’s book. This event is free and open to the public, and the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions. Light refreshments will be served.

The author spotlight event will also serve as the kickoff for FOTL’s 30th anniversary celebration. FOTL will unveil a special logo designed to mark the anniversary, which will be used on promotional items that will be sold to benefit all three branches of the Caroline County Public Library. The organization has several other events planned throughout the next year to celebrate its anniversary.
